Tushnabad, April 9: In the mid-night of April 6-7, 2024, acting on specific intelligence received from a reliable source, a police team comprising Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO, PS Central Crime Station (CCS), Sub-Inspector Parvash, Head Constable Sanjit Madhu, Sanjay Kujur, K. Venkateshwar Rao, Shibani Biswas, Constables K. Rajendran and N. Thangaraj of CCS Police Station led by Shri. Kumar Abhishek, Dy.SP (CID), conducted a raid in Tushnabad. During the operation, the team seized 405 grams of Ganja from the possession of one Vishal Singh, S/o Shri. Sikander Singh R/o Tushnabad. Vishal Singh was promptly arrested on the spot following the due legal procedure. The raid was conducted under overall supervision of Shri Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP(CID).  Accused Vishal Singh is a habitual offender with previous involvement in five cases.

Port Blair, April 9: As part of the preparations for the ensuing General Elections -2024, the third and final round training for the Presiding Officers and the Polling Officers was organised at Dr. B. R Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) auditorium here today. The Presiding Officers & Polling Officers engaged in Election duty for Port Blair Tehsil attended the training. Returning Officer, ANIPC/DC (SA), Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS and other officials related to Election Training were present on the occasion.

Kalighat, April 9: In a swift and efficient operation carried out on 09/0/2024, the Kalighat Police once again successfully confiscated a significant quantity of illicit liquor at Talbagan forest. Acting promptly on a tip, SI Ashok Kumar Baghel, SHO, PS Kalighat formed a specialized team consisting of PCs Sushil Sarkar and Ranjit Biswas. The proactive team successfully seized a significant quantity of 700 liters of Lehan, along with other bhatti materials used in the production process. These materials were discreetly hidden within the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
